Launched at the end of the B5 generation and produced in limited numbers, the very first Audi RS4 has nonetheless achieved cult status. It must be said that this station wagon can rival lighter sports cars, such as the Ferrari 360 Modena. The creation of Quattro GmbH is a pure marvel of engineering. Its V6 engine, reworked by Cosworth Technology, produces 380 horsepower (a record for a station wagon at the time), and its quattro system delivers formidable efficiency. Visually very understated, the RS4 B5 still features a touch of chrome to make itself stand out. Similarly, the flared fenders hint at a reworked mechanical setup designed for greater performance. The RS4 B5 is therefore just as desirable as it is efficient.
